Peter Sandberg - ‘Temporary Coexistence of Humans’
Release Date: May 1, 2026 - Vinyl & Digital incl. Dolby Atmos

“Even the smallest gesture can shift the course of another’s world”; this is the magical truth that Peter Sandberg has instilled in his new album, Temporary Coexistence of Humans. Each of the thirteen original pieces sketches a profound portrait of one of the many distinct forms of connection that we as humans experience in our everyday lives. Some of these focus on interactions with the world around us—a dance with a stranger or a fleeting moment of affection—while others are more intimate ruminations about self-doubt or identity. Performing on solo piano, Peter Sandberg invites us into the chaotic wonder of humanity and what it means to navigate this world of precarious, yet beautiful, chance.

Connection and separation, dramatic encounters and soft touches, participation in the vast world while attuning to the inner workings of one’s own mind—all these interactions play out every day in multitudes, a universal experience that is unique like a snowflake for each person. Temporary Coexistence of Humans creates harmony from these blurred polarities, with each moving track acting as an individual chapter within a greater story. Opening with the emblematic “Temporary Coexistence”, the album journeys through “Routine” (the struggle between originality versus conformity), “Molly” (a growing child discovering the world around her and creating her own place within it), “Waltzing with a Stranger” (a sparkling moment of warmth shared with someone unknown) and “Monday” (a wholesome manifestation of sudden and all-encompassing love).

As the pianist and composer explains, this project “explores the beauty and chaos of human

connection, how every collision, whether subtle or life-altering, weaves us into an intricate web of consequence. By surrendering control, we find meaning in the unpredictable.” The inviting musical landscape asks the listener to do just that: to cede to its charm and simply exist within it. With delicate melodies and minimal sound environments, the pieces resonate with a sense of hopeful romanticism, but their composer is not hesitant to interrupt this mood or lace it with a breath of regret or melancholy. This further illustrates that control is merely an illusion: the contradictions of life play out on their own through cause and effect, puzzle pieces that break apart and fit back together over time. Through thirteen evocative vignettes, Peter Sandberg creates a single work of seamless intersections that demonstrates the heart of what it means to be human.

As with his previous recordings, the Swedish composer, pianist and multi-instrumentalist developed this project from his studio in Uppsala. His compositional style lies somewhere between stage and cinema, blending classical form and neoclassical minimalism with the storytelling and sentiment of contemporary media. His projects often hinge on deep, conceptual ideas while maintaining a simplicity and clarity of sound that makes them effortlessly accessible. Peter Sandberg has written music featured in seasons three and four of the record-breaking Netflix series Stranger Things, as well as commercials for brands including Volvo, Tesla and Vox. His body of work has amassed more than 500 million streams across digital platforms to date.

Temporary Coexistence of Humans is set to be released on Warner Classics on 1 May 2026 and will be available on vinyl and digital platforms.
